Odorant Monitoring

Featured Application:
Cut Costs and Time With On-Line Odorant Monitoring

Odorants added to natural gas for leak detection are assessed by "sniffers" from local distribution companies (LDCs). These sniffers generate data from field reports, customer input, and models. However, dispatching sniffers across interstate pipelines is costly and time-consuming. On-line process analyzers, complying with CFR Title 49, Part 192.625, help solve this dilemma by providing continuous trend data.

The OMA-300 Process Analyzer is ideal for real-time odorant monitoring. It detects mercaptans and thiophenes by their unique ultraviolet absorbance features. This allows real-time concentration monitoring and optimization of odorant distribution.
