From gasification of carbonaceous waste to harvesting biogas, various promising alternative energies could benefit from the standardization and quality control achieved through process analytics. Much like conventional fossil fuels, these alternative fuels can be contaminated with toxic/corrosive compounds (e.g. sulfides) and require strict monitoring to be verified as fit for use.
